Merten Stein is a senior consultant with 20 years of management and strategy consulting experience, leading the department Shipping Advisory West Europe in DNV in Hamburg. Before joining DNV in 2012, he worked as Management Consultant in Booz & Company.

Merten has a track record of more than 60 consulting projects. Delivering insights from blending commercial, technical and regulatory expertise has been a major professional theme of his work, with increasing focus on the commercial feasibility of low/no carbon fuels and technologies.

His clients are shipping companies, port & terminal operators, investors, suppliers and governmental entities facing the maritime sector. Beyond Maritime, Merten served private and governmental/public clients in e.g., Oil & Gas, Transport & Logistics, and Wind Energy in Europe, Middle East and Asia.
