Ammonia as Carbon-Free Fuel
The focus of this work is an ammonia fueled internal combustion engine concept targeting a stationary application in the 1 MW range, coupled with an ammonia cracker to supply small quantities of hydrogen as a combustion enhancer. First single cylinder results with a spark ignited combustion concept will be shown, next to an outlook of a potential exhaust aftertreatment layout to minimize overall emissions.
