Comprehensive technical innovations are a key factor on the way to climate-neutral shipping. However, in order to actually decarbonise shipping, it is essential that these are complemented by corresponding infrastructure.

Ports have a decisive role to play here. Decarbonisation can only succeed if they are capable of supplying regional and international shipping in such a way that innovative technologies can displace current technology on a broad scale.
Session I deals with current developments and projects in this domain.
